Relief Printmaking - some of what I have tried

I have always been fascinated by different printmaking technologies, have collected  antique etchings and engravings for many years - and am hooked on relief printmaking ever since having tried it out for the first time a few years ago. The Edinburgh Printmakers, where I am a member now (since Dec 24 also on the Board!), is such an amazing space! They offer a wide variety of courses, for accomplished artists as well as for absolute beginners. I want everyone to check them out! Below are examples of my own printmaking.

Escapism of early 2025 - real plants, linocut fairies plus emotional support snails!

Tried 'jigsaw' technique for the first time here - lino is cut, inked separately, reassembled for printing:

For my friend Louise and her partner Mags - adventurous, fearless and living their best lives.

A very energetic fairy...

'Rainbow' (gradient) + 'Jigsaw' (cut for inking, reassembled for printing) linocut of Murphy:

Combining real autumn leaves with lino to create my autumn fairy:

Quick sketch for my partner Laura, the brightest star in every sense.

My mum's late cat Penny - an attempt at reduction (removing more of the original block for each colour print run)

Christmas cards...

Early stuff printed at home...
